Title: Calculate Initial Vertical Stress Value
Post by: python on October 23, 2023, 11:06:47 am
According to the excavation scenario in Tutorial Number 6 titled 'Anchored Sheet Pile Wall', how is the 'initial vertical stress value' required to initiate a soil stress condition calculated? It is clearly stated how the Y-Variation Value is calculated, but how should the vertical 11956.0 and horizontal 5978.0 Initial Value (Pa) be calculated theoretically for the soil in the lower layer?

It should be like that stated below:
I think the equation of initial stress may be Δσsand-(Δσclay/Hclay)*Hsand which can be expressed 68012-4*19992, if like this, how can be calculated if there is water table situation? So, it is so complicated due to cannot be calculated by software auto.
