Title: Beam element
Post by: dv012 on October 15, 2018, 03:47:01 am
Hi all,

Quick question with regards to beams, if you increase the second moment parameter why do the bending moments increase drastically for the same loading and soil parameters?

from experience, stiffer structure (higher EI) will generally absorb more force from ground during soil-structure interaction. Perhaps a structural engineer would easily be able to prove it on a paper.

Hi Roozbeh,

thank you for your prompt reply, I found an error in my script this morning, fixed that and the BM results were what was expected and not 2 times greater than i was getting.

Awesome software !!
