How to understand force on nodes(Read 6960 times)
How to understand force on nodes on: October 16, 2019, 02:07:12 am
Dear Sir,

When I have a uniform distributed load of  20kN/m² on top of the slope and my units are m, N and the distance between nodes are  1,50m.
What force F in y direction do I have to apply? 1,5 x 1,0 x 20.000 = 30.000N ?

Kind regards

Roger Moortgat

you need to apply stress directly instead of force. select syy (vertical stress) from the boundary condition menu and use -20000 N/m2 (negative means downward) for the distributed pressure value.
