Tiebacks(Read 15331 times)

I attempted to simulate a tunnel with a joint using tiebacks. However, I observed that the tiebacks did not significantly impact the stress and displacement within the tunnel. I am seeking your advice on how to properly align the tiebacks and what parameters should be used to optimize their effectiveness.

Attached is the script detailing how I conducted the simulation. I would greatly appreciate any recommendations or insights you can provide.

Thank you for your guidance.

It aligns with the majority of existing observations as well as my personal experience. Use of cable bolts (or tiebacks) in continuum medium typically results in negligible improvement. In blocky rock masses, the influence of cable elements will be obvious when modeling discontinuous media.
